The city of Knoxville is looking forward to the new housing that will be available in the Veterans District.

The former VA site is providing plenty of space for future housing of Knoxville residents. A few lots have already been purchased by families looking to build. 

Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery talked about how this new development will help move past a housing obstacle in the city.

“For the longest time we have wanted to be able to retain the people who come here for work or the people that are looking to move here and are happy to be part of Knoxville, but housing has always been the huge obstacle for us, and so being able to offer that and say come move here and be a a part of our community is a huge win for us and so we’re very fortunate to have that space available within the Veterans District.” 

The current phase of the Veterans District is nearing completion.
