The PCM football team is going to enter the 2023 football season facing a tough non-district schedule.

The Mustangs will open their season against Sigourney-Keota who finished the regular season last year with A 6-2 record. They will then face Pella Christian who went 7-1 in the 2022 regular season and advanced to the state quarterfinals. Their non-district schedule will wrap up with a road trip to Nevada who went 7-2 last year in the regular season.

PCM Head Football Coach Greg Bonnett talked about the benefits of having a tough non-district schedule.

“My philosophy always is, build up your non-conference schedule to be tough. Bang through that non-conference schedule so when you get to district play you’ve seen it all and you’re ready to go and I think with those three games and scrimaging Pella this year we’re going to have some competition built up and we’re going to so to speak have that experience bank against good teams when we go into district play.”

The Mustangs season kicks off on August 25th.
