The Pella Christian volleyball season begins in just over a week, and with that will come the first games under new head coach Erica Boer.
After serving as an assistant coach for the past few seasons, Erica takes over an Eagles squad that went 25-15 last season and posted their highest winning percentage since 2016. While Pella Christian has yet to take the court in an official game, Erica has enjoyed her first few weeks of practices leading the team.
“It’s actually been really fulfilling. I was talking to my husband last night, this is probably the first job that I come home with the most joy, aside from being a mom. Getting to love on these girls every day and get to experience those light bulb moments where they see something new or they nail a skill in the game, it’s been really awesome for me. So, I’ve loved to be able to share my heart with these girls, but also help them grow in the sport of volleyball.”
The Eagles begin their season on Saturday, August 26th at the Skip Anderson Invitational at Bondurant-Farrar.
