The Marion County Road Department wants to make sure vehicles are giving plenty of space for road painters.

On Monday, the Marion County Road Department started a countywide road painting project that is expected to last until Friday, August 25th. There are going to be rolling lane closures on all county highways during this time for the pavement markings. 

Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian reinforced the need to approach these painting vehicles with caution. 

“Anytime you see this moving one lane closure just approach with care. There will be a shadow vehicle keeping you at an appropriate distance for the paint to dry. If you go around that shadow vehicle and try and get in amongst the traffic you may get paint on your car so just be patient.”
