The Indianola football team is now less than a week away from beginning their season at home against the J-Hawks of Urbandale, and still have questions about starters in key positions on the roster.

Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports the scrimmage as well as the last week of practice will go a long way towards selecting the starters at quarterback and some defensive positions, however this team is very deep and even if players don’t win a specific position battle they will likely play elsewhere.

Kluver also said this year the team is going to have to be able to run the ball in order to do well, with Jake Pontier set to get the majority of reps from the backfield.
