The Pella Christian volleyball team is hoping that previous varsity experience will help them find similar success to what they enjoyed a year ago.
Coming off a 25-15 season, the Eagles return eight players that saw varsity action in at least four matches throughout last fall. Among the returners, the Eagles have five seniors and head coach Erica Boer has been impressed by their leadership throughout the preseason.
“We have a lot of depth and experience. Pretty much all of our girls have at least seen some varsity time which is huge. We’ve got leaders in our seniors with Annika Van Dyke, Ema Zula, Hattie Fancher, and Emerson De Vries. Dani Roose is on our bench, she’s injured this year, but she’s still part of our program. So, they bring some great leadership just who they are as women of God, but also on the court.”
The Eagles open the volleyball season with the Skip Anderson Invitational at Bondurant-Farrar next Saturday at 8 a.m.
