The fifth annual Senior Sunrise at Pella Christian High School will kick off the 2023-2024 school year on Thursday.

The morning will begin at 6:30 a.m. with a hot breakfast made by the senior parents. Following breakfast, Pella Christian Shop Teacher and Youth Pastor at Faith Christian Reformed Church Nolan Wiersma will speak. There will also be a time of worship and a photo booth set up for the senior’s first day of school pictures. Pella Christian High School Principal Kevin Herdegen believes that the Senior Sunrise helps build camaraderie that will impact the entire student body.

“Allowing our seniors to gather together in community before the school year starts to just pull them together I think is very important. I’m thankful for our parents that support our Senior Sunrise and the work that goes into preparing food and just the morning and the cleanup afterwards. I think we have great parents support and I think that’s evident in our Senior Sunrise. And so, anytime we can encourage our seniors to build community within themselves, I think it builds community in our school.”
