The PCM football team opened the 2023 season Friday night with a 22-15 victory over Sigourney-Keota.

The Mustangs struggled to adjust to the Cobra offense’s misdirection in the first half but settled in after halftime. Trailing 15-7 in the second half, Griffin Olson sparked the PCM comeback with two receiving touchdowns and two interceptions defensively. The Mustangs other touchdown on the night came from running back Adrein Robbins. PCM head coach Greg Bonnett talked about the game against a tough Sigourney-Keota team.

“It was just a hard fought football game on both sides. Sigourney, they’re a tough team. They got tradition. They got it all and they’re going to be a phenomenal team all year. I knew that going into it. I think we all knew it and we were able to  step up and make some good things happen.”

The Mustangs will travel to Pella next week to take on the Pella Christian Eagles.
