The Knoxville Police Department wants everyone to be safe when parking and walking to Ken Locke Stadium Friday night.

The Knoxville Panthers 2023 football season is now in full swing and their first home game of the season is this week against Clarke. The Panthers play their home football games at Historic Ken Locke Stadium located at 101 Lincoln St.

Unlike most high school football fields, Ken Locke is not located near the high school and is part of a residential neighborhood, which can make parking tricky for large crowds on Friday Nights.

Some Panther fans will park in the limited spots at the stadium and some will park on side streets, but a majority of people attending the game will park at the old Middle School building. This requires walking across Highway 14 to get to the field.

Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller wants citizens to be safe when making the cross.

“Just be safe. Don’t cross where you shouldn’t. Use crosswalks. Look both ways. Even if you do everything right doesn’t mean the person driving the car does everything right.”

Friday’s game kicks off at 7:30 pm. Hear the Panthers every Friday on 95.3 KNIA.
