The PCM girls cross country team got off to a strong start to the season Tuesday night with a second place finish at the Williamsburg Invitational, while the boys took ninth place in the race. 

The Mustang girls finished with a team score of 72 points, finishing  just behind Class 2A #6 Williamsburg, who had 64 points. PCM sophomore Abi Teeter finished in third place individually with a time of 22:37.8. Senior Tiffani Koonce was 11th with a time of 23:40.7, and freshman Bailey Wheeler took 14th with a time of 24:03.4. PCM cross country coach Eric Karr stated that he was really happy with Abi Teeter’s strong start to the season and added that she fought with a pack of runners for most of the way before pulling away at the end. 

The PCM boys were led by Coby Deraad in their first meet of the season. The sophomore  completed the course in 19:26.2 to claim 25th place individually for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs are back in action on Thursday, September 7th, when they compete at the Mustang Invitational at Davis County in Bloomfield.
