The Pleasantville volleyball team couldn’t get over .500 in the West Central Conference Tuesday night, falling to ACGC 3-1.

The Trojans played a hard fought first set, but ended up on the wrong side of a 25-18 decision.  Pleasantville bounced back in the second set to the Chargers 25-21. The third set got away from the Trojans as they fell 17-25, and despite a  late fourth set surge, Pleasantville’s efforts weren’t enough and they dropped the final set 25-20. Pleasantville Coach Joel Allman said that his team needs to be more consistent with their serves to prevent their opponents from getting big runs.

“We have to serve better. You can’t go on a run yourself if you don’t serve consistently. Tonight our serve receive fell apart a bit and so to minimize the other team’s runs, and I tell our girls this all the time, we have to do our job every point and if we don’t do our job every point then another team goes on a run and that’s how runs happen.”

The Trojans next match will be at the Clarke Triangular on Thursday, September 7th.
