The Pleasantville boys and girls cross country teams will kick off their season today at the West Central Valley Wildcat Classic.

The meet will feature 13 teams on both the boys and girls side. The Trojans are bringing back key runners on both of their squads.

Pleasantville Cross County Coach Aaron Fitcher mentioned that the first meet is a way to gauge where his runners are at. 

“I’ll be interested to see what we have from the kids that have put more time in over the summer and also just see where summer of our newer kids are at or kids that you might see that aren’t even a top 20 kid that just knowing that they put a little more time in to see they improved from their sophomore year to junior year kind of a thing. A lot of questions that will be answered even in just the first meet.”

Today’s meet for the Trojans starts at 4:30 pm.
