The Indianola City Council gave direction to city staff regarding the South K Street Paving Project at their meeting Tuesday, which included staff finding other alternatives to the previous plan that involved the construction of full infrastructure around the area. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the council heard from residents at public meetings and informational sessions, and want to be presented with other options.

“A lot of feedback was received, and we wanted to make sure that we were proceeding in the direction the council wanted us to proceed and if we wanted to explore other options. Clearly the council has listened to the public, which I really appreciate, they had some great dialogue, and I invite all of the community to watch last night’s (Tuesday) meeting so they can see that dialogue. Basically they have directed staff to look at other alternative options that are more cost effective and bring that to them for their review or perhaps a deeper dive, on September 18th.’
