Work on the alleys and parking lots on the downtown Indianola square could wrap up soon, as construction crews have made progress regarding the utility work and the paving of the parking lots. Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the north and south alleys are near completion.
“Those two projects are both getting close to being wrapped up here. On the south alley, we are hopeful construction should be wrapped up by the end of next week, so that would be September 15th we can anticipate the parking lot and alley being opened to the public. Then on the north alley we are shooting for a month after that, so around October 15th, that would be opened back up.”
Dissell also said that any closings that could take place on the West Alley that could begin construction will not last through the winter months.
