Indianola and Warren County residents have been getting their weekly weather reports and memes all in one place over the last several years, with The Off the Cuff Weather Guy Facebook Page, run by Brad Green. Green tells KNIA News he is a weather forecaster for the US Air Force in Iowa, and the page was founded when those in the community continued to ask him for the weather forecast, and wanted to do it in a unique way.

“I kept getting the questions over and over again, and I was like, I’m tired of answering every person with the same thing every week, why don’t I start a page? So I started doing this page, and I was trying to think of a unique name, and most of my stuff is off the cuff. I was taught to be able to just look at the sky, see where the winds are coming from and the clouds, and I can kind of tell you what the weather patterns are going to be the next couple of days. So I was saying it was an off the cuff way of doing it, so I just kept it going.”

Green also says the selections of memes that go along with the weather forecast often take him a lot longer to select than the actual weekly weather forecast, and he appreciates friends and family sending suggestions. Hear more on today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
