The Knoxville Cross Country Squads will run at Oskaloosa on Tuesday with a chance to see several of the South Central Conference squads the Panthers will face in the conference meet on October 10th. While that meet is a month away, both Coaches Michael and Mikayla Splavec are already looking the competition over. Michael tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he is excited to see what the conference teams have and where his team could fit in.
Michael: “There’s six of the eight conference schools that will be there and that’s a good test to see where we fit in, and see if we can steal some points at conference, so it’ll be a great chance to run against some really good teams.”
Mikayla is looking for a couple of things on Tuesday, a bounce back meet after a difficult day at Grinnell last Tuesday, and a chance to scout out the South Central Conference competition.
Mikayla: “We did not run very at Grinnell, I want to see some bounce back, and just like Michael said see some of the teams in our conference/”
Among the conference teams that are scheduled to show up are Albia, Centerville…, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, and Davis County. First races are set to begin at 4:30.
