team-2

In what Coach Mollie Keitges called the best effort of the season, the class 4A #14 Knoxville Volleyball Squad used a balanced attack to sweep class 2A #11 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Tuesday night 25-18, 25-23 and 25-23 breaking EBF’s 18 match conference winning streak. The Panthers held control for most of the night and took advantage of several Rockets errors in hitting and serving. Ella Breazeale led with ten kills, while Brittany Bacorn and Hannah Dunkin had eight and Payton Horn put down five. Bacorn is now just eight kills away from 1,000 in her career. Bacorn also had 23 assists and 12 digs. The Panthers also put down nine ace serves with Dunkin going 14/14 and Marlea Cox getting the aces with three. Knoxville is now 7-3 and 3-0 in the South Central Conference and holds sole possession of 1st place. The Panthers will head to the Des Moines Christian Invitational on Thursday.
