The Melcher-Dallas Volleyball Squad won a hard fought match with Murray three sets to one 27-25, 25-20, 19-25, and 25/21. The back and forth match saw neither team get total control in any set until the clinching point was scored. Brooklyn Metz led with 12 digs while Jenna Mickey went 20/22 serving with seven aces and 26 assists on the night. The Saints were balanced in the kill department as Metz, Gabby Overgaard, Maddy DeJong, and Haylie Hendrickson all had eight kills. The three seniors, Metz, Hendrickson, and Karsyn Mateer tell KNIA Sports it was good to get a win in a nerve-wracking match.
Metz: “I think we played good and we all played as a team and didn’t have as many mistakes.”
Mateer: “I think we really showed people what we’re really made of.”
Hendrickson: “I think we had some mistakes but not too many, we fought really hard and played as a team”
Coach Jesyka Nolte echoed that thought and said that was a total team win. Melcher-Dallas will take on Seymour Thursday night.
