The PCM football team will face Jesup in their homecoming game tonight.

The Mustangs fell to 1-2 on the season last week after a tough loss on the road to Nevada, who was ranked #3 in class 3A. The PCM offense struggled to close out drives coming up empty on four straight trips to the red zone. Despite the loss, junior running back Adrein Robbins still continues to be a force for the Mustang offense with 449 all purpose yards and four touchdowns through three games.

PCM will now head into district play this week as they take on the Jesup Jayhawks tonight. The Jayhawks are 1-2 on the season and are the only team in the Mustangs district with a win so far on the year. Jesup’s only victory came over Oelwein in week two. Coach Greg Bonnett said he is preparing for a good football team to come in this week.

“When I look at Jesup, what I see is a team that flies around. They have a good offensive scheme they really do. It’s all based off of like RPO type of stuff where they can hand the ball off and they can pass it. Their defense is what I call unpredictable three front defenses where they will be in a 3-5 stack or 3-4 defense but guys are always moving and guys are always slanting so if you don’t take the correct path when you’re blocking up front it can create problems for your offense all night long. It’s definitely not a game that we would ever overlook.”

Tonight’s game starts at 7:30 and live play-by-play can be heard on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com.
