The PCM football team routed Jesup 50-7 in their homecoming football game Friday night to start district play, as heard on the KRLS3 stream.
Adrein Robbins scored on a 40 yard rushing touchdown 31 seconds into the game and it was all Mustangs for the rest of the night. Robbins would score three touchdowns in the game. PCM quarterback Gavin VanGorp found his rhythm, as he completed a beautiful touchdown pass to Griffin Olson and ran one in himself in the first half. The Mustang defense dominated and were able to rebound from a tough performance at Nevada last week.
The Mustangs pulled all of their starters in the fourth quarter and several younger and inexperienced players were able to get quality reps. PCM Football Coach Greg Bonnett talked about feeling good after the win.
“It’s a lot better than the alternative. The last two weeks I haven’t been feeling very good at all and this is just a heck of a lot better. We know we have things to work on but it is hard to win football games. It really is so when you have a chance to win you’ve got to enjoy it.”
After the win, PCM improves to 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in the district. The Mustangs will travel to La Porte City next week to take on the Union Community Knights.
