It was another strong Saturday showing for the Pella volleyball team, going 3-2 and finishing as the runners-up in the Ballard Invitational.
The Dutch defeated Woodward-Granger 2-0 (21-8, 21-14) and #9 in 4A Ballard 2-0 (21-19, 21-16), fell to Nevada 2-0 (13-21, 19-21), and split two matches with #13 in 4A North Polk 2-0 (21-15, 21-12) and 1-2 in the finals (12-21, 21-18, 12-15).
“I feel like we are starting to see more of our great moments string together and that definitely provided us some great outcomes this weekend. The championship match went three sets and ultimately not our way and I think that still left us all unsatisfied on what otherwise was a successful day,” said Head Coach Sam Sheldon.
Katie Scheckel tallied 34 kills and 55 assists and Kelsey Tauke tallied 10 blocks. Pella moves to 12-7 overall and will host their first home match Tuesday against #6 in 4A Norwalk Tuesday, which will include senior night festivities at 6:45 p.m.
