The residential house fired that occurred Tuesday morning in Knoxville is considered a total loss.
At 10:05 Tuesday morning the Knoxville Fire Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of E Robinson St. for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, Knoxville Fire Chief Cal Wyman saw smoke and fire coming out of the windows.
“While we were responding, we saw a pretty good header of smoke coming from the area, On the scene we saw smoke and fire out the windows and the side door, and we made an aggressive attack on it, knocked it down, and made a search all the victims were out and all the pets were out.”
Crews were able to extinguish the fire in approximately 15 minutes and two adults and two pets were able to get out of the house before firefighters arrived. The cause of the fire was electrical and the fire started in the living room. The Knoxville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Township Fire Department, Pella EMS, Indiana Township Fire Department, Knoxville Water Department, Marion County EMA, Marion County Sheriff, MidAmerican, and Alliant.
