Candidates interested in running for a seat on the Indianola City Council or Indianola School Board must turn in their Affidavit of Candidacy and Nomination Petition Papers to the Indianola City Clerk or District Administration Building by 5pm.
Indianola City Clerk Jackie Raffety tells KNIA News seats on the ballot for the November election include the First Ward, Third Ward, and an At-Large seat. Candidates running for ward seats can only collect signatures from within the ward, while the At-Large candidates can collect signatures from anyone in the city, and all petition signers must be eligible electors of the city and ward.
Four seats are up for election in November for Indianola School Board, currently occupied by Ben Metzger, Donna Kreamer, Sue Wilson, and Rob Keller. All four seats are at-large, and the top four candidates receiving votes from the pool of candidates will be sworn in as School Board members.
The election will be held November 7th.
