Thursday at 5:00 pm was the filing deadline for Knoxville city candidates and everyone will be running unopposed for the 2023 election. 

Brian Hatch will be running unopposed for Knoxville mayor as he seeks a new term. Bridget Mohler, John Gotta, and Dawn Rankin will run unopposed for at large city council seats. Gotta and Rankin will be seeking re-election and Mohler is running for her first term. Ballot information for Knoxville schools was not available at 5:00 pm Thursday but KNIA/KRLS will provide an update as soon as they are released. 

The 2023 regular city and school election for Marion County will take place on Tuesday, November 7th. All polling sites will be open from 7:00 am-8:00 pm. If you would like to vote in this election you can register online through the Iowa DOT, download a printable form at www.marioncountyiowa.gov and return to the county auditor’s office, or register the day of the election at your polling location. 

To register to vote in the state of Iowa you need to be 17 years of age or older if you will be 18 by election day, and be a resident of the United States and Iowa. You will not be allowed to vote if you have been convicted of a felony and your rights haven’t been restored, or claim the right to vote in another state.
