Knoxville Municipal Airport will be hosting the Knoxville Airshow and Family Festival on Saturday.

There will be a family fun festival at the airport starting at 1:00 that will have a petting zoo, bounce house, flight simulator, photo booth, plane train, rock climbing wall, door prizes, and much more. After the fun festival the airshow will start at 4:30 involving many different impressive acts in the sky. After the airshow there will be a concert starting at 6:00 by “The Nadas” featuring Neva Allen.

Food trucks will be available all day during the event and concert. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to sit on during the show. Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch says events like this are what bring people to the community.

“Any time we have events like this it just brings people into town. It makes us a destination. We’re significant and It brings that excitement in and gives people something to do and something to see.”

Hatch will be skydiving to kick off the airshow. Hear more from the mayor on today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
