The 2024 Tulip Queen and Royal Court nomination process continues until Tuesday. Carol Williamson with the Tulip Time Steering Committee says residents can choose high school seniors living in the Pella Community School District borders for the chance to be the five ambassadors promoting the 89th Tulip Time celebration next spring. Nomination forms can be dropped off at the Pella Historical Society, Marion County Bank, Pella Hy-Vee, and Pella Fareway through Tuesday or online.
Those eligible:
– Turn 17 by May 1st, 2024, and are high school seniors
– Live with a parent/guardian in the borders of the Pella Schools (can attend Pella, Pella Christian, or homeschool)
– Be unmarried
From there, Williamson says the girls nominated have to accept and commit to being part of the process, and the list of nominees will be voted on from October 11th through the 17th with those official ballots only published in the Town Crier and dropped off at Pella Historical Society and other locations in town. The 12 Tulip Queen finalists will be announced on 92.1 KRLS on October 25th, and will lead up to the annual Queen’s Announcement Party at Pella High School on Saturday, November 11th.
