Knoxville Parks and Recreation is in need of volunteer basketball coaches for the upcoming season.
The Parks and Rec Department offers many different sports leagues throughout the year that give kids in the community an opportunity to play the sports they love. Although it is football season, Knoxville Parks and Rec is searching for basketball coaches to help teach the game to kids of various ages and lead them in what might be their first experience with competition. Volunteer coaches are crucial in the Parks and Rec Department and it is a way to give back to the local community. Knoxville Parks and Recreation Director Brandon Nemmers said that he appreciates volunteer support.
“It is nice to have those volunteers. It helps us bridge the gap between some staffing issues and we just appreciate everyone’s support on that.”
