Home builders are excited for the opportunity they are having to build in Knoxville’s new Veterans District.
An open house was held Wednesday at the new district, and there were four different builders represented, including Origin Homes, Sage Homes, CCS Homes, and Swayne Construction. The new district, which is the site of the former Knoxville VA, is still just in phase one of bringing more housing to the community. In August, Governor Kim Reynolds announced awards that will be given for the Workforce Housing Tax Credit and Origin Homes was awarded credits to build homes at the Veteran’s District in Knoxville. The company is based out of West Des Moines, and Director of Operations Matt Daniels talked at the open house about his excitement to come build in Knoxville.
“We just can’t wait to get down here to Knoxville and get our houses in the ground, and show people in the community what we can do, and what the opportunities can be for them to own a new house. A brand new house.”
Several lots are still available for purchase within the district.
