The City of Knoxville and the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at the new Veteran’s District Wednesday night during the open house hosted by Sundance Realty.
The open house and ribbon cutting gave citizens an opportunity to see the progress made at the site of the former Knoxville VA, explore the new district, learn about purchasing a lot, and talk with local builders about the plans for the district or how you can work with them. Builders that were available at the event were Origin Homes, Sage Homes, CCS Homes, and Swayne Construction. Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch talked about what it’s like to see this Veterans District project come to life.
“It feels great to be able to see this happen. Several years ago we were just talking about it a little bit and there were times where I didn’t know if it really would happen. You get a little discouraged. It’s a long process and so to finally come out here today to see this product and see things happening, and life out here again, it’s great. It’s wonderful for the community.”
