A looming potential government shutdown would close most areas of Lake Red Rock — but only those operated by the federal government. Marion County Conservation Executive Director Steve Edwards tells KNIA/KRLS News a federal government shutdown does not affect any county parks or campgrounds around Lake Red Rock. So all sections of the parks, campgrounds and facilities at Roberts Creek Park, Cordova Park and Marion County Park will remain open.

In an update, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced a shutdown would begin on Sunday, but campgrounds will now remain open based on new guidelines.
