The PCM football team is back at home tonight to take on the West Marshall Trojans.

The Mustangs are 4-2 on the season and 3-0 in the district after an impressive 49-15 victory over the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings last week. Adrein Robbins had a monster game rushing for 307 yards and four touchdowns. He has continued to impress all season and currently leads all of class 2A in rushing yards with 1063 which is 180 more than the next player on the list. Quarterback Gavin Van Gorp is starting to hit his stride as he threw for two touchdowns and ran one in himself last Friday.

PCM hosts West Marshall who is 2-4 on the season and 2-1 in the district. The Trojans are the only team in the Mustang’s district that they are really familiar with as they have played each other the last five seasons. West Marshall beat the Mustangs last year 13-12 and lead the historical series over PCM 8-4 in the bound era. PCM will look to avenge last year’s loss and pick up a big district win which would ultimately give the Mustangs a number one playoff seed. PCM Head Football Coach Greg Bonnett talked about their history with West Marshall.

“West Marshall is always going to be West Marshall. You can throw records out the door in a game like this. We know each other. The coaching staffs have coached against each other for many many years. They’re always going to have a little wrinkle for us and we’re always going to have a little wrinkle for them. We’ve never really had a non competitive game that I can remember.”

Tonight’s game against West Marshall starts at 7:30 pm and can be heard live on the KRLS3 stream with Clayton Sampson, and Shaffer Landuyt on the call.
