A Floris man was arrested on drug charges in Marion County.
Just before 8 p.m. on Thursday, a Marion County Sheriff’s Officer conducted a traffic stop of a green Ford Expedition that did not have a front license plate and had an inoperable license plate light. The male driver, identified as 51-year old Keith Williams, stated to the officer that he did not possess a valid driver’s license. Dispatch confirmed to the officer that Williams’ license was barred. A search during the arrest led to the apparent discovery of a methamphetamine pipe and a marijuana pipe on the subject. During a search of the vehicle, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant claimed to have located a baggy containing a green leafy substance and a baggy containing a white crystalline substance.
Williams is charged with possession of a controlled substance – third or subsequent offense, a Class D Felony, as well as an aggravated misdemeanor for driving while barred habitual offender, and a serious misdemeanor for possession of methamphetamine. He also faces a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia and a scheduled violation for failure to provide proof of financial liability.
Williams’ bond has been set at $7,000, and he is due in court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.
