Both Simpson College swimming and diving teams were selected fourth in their respective American Rivers Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Last year, Kate Minette had one of the most successful seasons in program history, winning the conference title in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, before taking runner-up honors in the 200-yard version. The Liberty, Mo. native also broke a 19-year-old school record in the 50-yard freestyle, lowered her own school record in the 100-yard freestyle, and was named conference performer of the week twice. The men also had a relay team set a new program record as Adrian Mulgrew-Truitt, Gabe Bruns, Christopher Olds and Jay Ceperley swam the 800-yard freestyle relay in 7:47.53 at the conference championships.
