The Knoxville school board approved a proposal for new visiting bleachers at Randy Wilson Track at their meeting Monday night.

This is part of the overall renovation project at the site and will completely replace the current visiting bleachers at the track. The board approved a quote submitted by TownsEnd Company for $144,740 for the bleachers, and the funds for this project are included in the $2.5 million already approved by the board for the renovations at Randy Wilson Track. Knoxville Community School District Business Manager Craig Mobley said  the seating capacity for the new bleachers will improve on what they had in place originally.

“I believe it will be roughly 500 and some seating capacity for the visiting bleachers. We will have ramp access and everything like that. We are looking to get that done before track season.”

The proposal passed unanimously at the meeting.
