The Iowa Department of Transportation is holding an in-person or virtual public information meeting today, discussing the proposed right-of-way needs for the bypass northwest of Oskaloosa. The proposal realignment would shift the existing roadway of U.S. 63 to the west, about 3 miles northwest of Oskaloosa. The two-lane bypass that is being proposed would run diagonally and connect with U.S. 63 north of the city limits in Oskaloosa to a new interchange at Iowa 163 west of the city. The in-person meeting will take place tonight at Oskaloosa Middle School at 1704 N. Third St. There is no formal presentation at this meeting, and those attending can do so anytime between 5:30 and 7 p.m. The virtual meeting can be viewed anytime today beginning at noon until Friday, October 27th.
