A busy campaign season continues as Republican presidential candidates stop in local communities.
Former South Carolina Governor and U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley was at Central College and spoke to a crowd of nearly 100 people Saturday. The event started with brief remarks from State Senator Ken Rozenboom and Representative Barb Kniff McCulla, and Haley then discussed her platform for nearly an hour. Haley also addressed questions about refugees, women in sports, election security, and entitlement programs.
Haley is one of several candidates to have stopped in the Tulip City during the campaign trail, including South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, and Former Governor Ava Hutchison. The Iowa Caucuses will be held on January 15th, 2024.
