Knoxville City Council member Dawn Rankin is seeking her first full term on the Knoxville City Council.

Rankin has served for two years on the council after filling in for a vacancy. Rankin is currently running unopposed in the 2023 city school elections alongside John Gotta, and Bridget Mohler. Rankin has lived in Knoxville since 1992 and works for Iowa State Bank in Des Moines. Rankin is involved in the community in many different ways through organizations and activities. Rankin said that the skills she has gained in her career has helped with her service on the city council.

“I think it is important to give back to your community, and the city council is a good way for me to utilize the skills I have. I have been involved in a lot of different civic groups.”
