Following an alleged threat made at Pleasantville Junior High School early this month, administration is working to adjust their communication protocols. Superintendent Tony Aylsworth said that staff did a great job in response, but adds that they are ensuring that their communications for these types of situations are made the proper way.

We are adjusting and kind of fine tuning some of our communication protocols on these types of events. In response to the alleged issue a few weeks ago, an informational email was sent out to families in junior high and high school and that was a misstep on our part. And so consequently, we’re a small enough community, our campus is tight knit enough in terms of proximity with one another, in the future any serious safety issues or concerns will be communicated out to all parents and all families. It was posted on our social media but we know that not all people consume information that way, and so we will do better in the future on that front certainly.
