Having been a staple of the Pella Christian volleyball team during her high school career, junior Chloe Huisman is leaving her imprint on the program.

In just her third season as the Eagles setter, Huisman has become the program’s all-time leader in assists. In addition to becoming the school record-holder, the junior became the first Eagles player ever to reach 2,000 career assists, achieving the feat at the Greene County Tournament on Saturday, September 30th. While ultimately Huisman’s name is the only one put into the record books for the accomplishment, Pella Christian head coach Erica Boer says that it was a team effort for the milestone to be reached.

“It’s a team effort. It takes a really good pass to get Chloe the set, and it takes a really good hitter to be able to get those kills. So, collectively as a team I was just super impressed. We’ve had some good girls go through our program that have helped Chloe get to that goal, and there’ll be good girls in the next season to help her accomplish even bigger goals that she has.”

Huisman currently has 2,196 career assists and will look to add to that total in her senior season in 2024.
