The Indianola City Council met in a regular and study session Monday evening. The council first held a study session to receive a report from Warren County Economic Development, and gave direction to city staff regarding the clarification of city code towards dangerous animals.

The council also discussed the steps moving forward regarding a rezoning of the area near Deer Run Golf Course, with potential housing units moved in, with residents near the area bringing up concerns around property values and population density among others. The process now moves forward to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The council also approved a vacation of a right-of-way for a portion of East Boston Avenue between 1801 East Boston Avenue and 210 North 18th Street before going into closed session to discuss the purchase or sale of particular real estate.
