The Indianola City Council met in regular session Monday evening, which included a long discussion regarding an application for a PUD (Planned Unit Development) Change to the properties near Deer Run Golf Course. City of Indianola Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News residents of the area where the units are planned to be developed brought concerns forth regarding property values and population density, which will be taken into account when the application reaches the council level. Dissell said the application will follow the procedure the city has laid out for developers and residents.

“The next step now is to take it to the Planning and Zoning Commission, have the Planning and Zoning Commission do its review, take public comments from anyone in the public who would like to speak about the proposal, then provide a recommendation to the council. Ultimately, council does have the final say in this process, but the council will always take into consideration what the Planning and Zoning recommendation is.”
