The Class 1A All-District 6 team has been released, and 11 athletes for Pella Christian were recognized for the honor.
Senior Trevor Veenstra highlighted the first team selection as a defensive lineman, claiming the district’s Defensive Most Valuable Player honor. Joining Veenstra on the first-team defense were junior defensive lineman Connor Van Zee, junior linebacker Cooper Spronk, and sophomore defensive back Brecken Ritzert. On offense, senior Caleb Van Arendonk was selected as the first team quarterback and was joined by senior running back Benny Schirz and senior tight end Isaiah Breems.
The Eagles added an additional four players to the list as second-team honorees. Senior John Boender was the Eagles lone second-team All-District offensive selection on the offensive line. Pella Christian’s second-team defensive honorees were senior defensive lineman Keagan Fopma, junior defensive back Landon Fransman, and sophomore linebacker Garrett Wielard.
Receiving honorable mention selections for the Eagles were senior offensive lineman Trae Van Maanen, senior defensive back Noah Nunnikhoven, and senior tight end Kaden Kruid.
