There was not much change to the Knoxville boys and girls basketball schedules this upcoming winter. For the girls, they will start off with PCM on November 21st and then host Bondurant-Farrar on November 27th. That is a change from recent schedules that had the Panthers in the past playing the Bluejays in the later half of the season. Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he wants to get a class 4A team that early for a good test for his team and hopes of getting a better draw in the regional. Each South Central Conference team will be a home-and-home series starting with Cardinal on December 2nd. The boys schedule is also similar from last season with the only addition is the return of Pella on the schedule after a year hiatus. That will be part of a varsity double header in the Tulip City on December 19th and is the last game before the Christmas break. Both teams will get a chance to play in Wells Fargo Arena against Newton on Saturday February 3rd, while the Panthers vs. Cancer night is Friday January 12th, and the Knoxville High School Athletic Hall of Fame Induction night will be against EBF on January 26th. Both Panther squads can be heard live on 95.3 KNIA starting with the girls game on November 21st against PCM.
