full-team-3

Class 3A District six has released its all-district football selections. From Knoxville on the 1st team was Kale Kincaid. Kincaid led the Panthers with 72 tackles and nine for loss. On the 2nd team was Koby Higginbotham, who set the single season receptions record with 36 with 522 yards and five touchdowns. Also on the second team was George Gilbert, Noah Keefer, David Gorskikh, Tyce Huyck, and Connor Willis. Dakota Ramsey and Spencer Van Hauen were named to honorable mention. Coach Matt Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports most of the players that got all-district were seniors and those guys will be missed when August comes around again next season.

Dunkin: “They had to step up when they were sophomores and play. They may not have had a lot of wins during their careers. They are going to go off and do a lot of much more important things that just win football games and I’m excited to see when they come back in a few years and see what they’ve become.”

Jay Kellar earned the Golden Award, which is given to an all-district player whose season was cut short due to injury. Kellar suffered a season ending injury in the game against Atlantic. He finished with 16 receptions for 199 yards and two touchdowns and a punt return for a score. Knoxville finished with a 2-7 record this season.
