Dr. John Kanis is retiring from Pella Regional Health Center after 41 years serving patients. 

Dr. Kanis has served as a family practice doctor over his career and most recently was the medical director of Pella Regional Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine. Outside of his practice with Pella Medical Clinic, Dr. Kanis has served the community as a medical director for Pella Community Ambulance, Marion County Medical Examiner, and as a physician for Christian Opportunity Center. Dr. Kanis has also volunteered as a physician for Pella Good Samaritan Free Clinic and taken numerous medical mission trips to Romania, Honduras and Nigeria.

The community is invited to a retirement reception for Dr. Kanis on Monday from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at Pella Regional Health Center, Conference Rooms A & B.
