The Knoxville School Board will hold three public hearings at their next meeting regarding significant projects in Knoxville.

The first hearing will be regarding property sale for the location located on the corner of Highway 14 and W Pleasant St. The school district has received a proposal to convey an interest in real property to Kwik Trip Inc. for $400,000. The location would be the future sight of a potential Kwik Star convenience store. The next public hearing will be regarding the bleacher project at Randy Wilson Track. The project for new home bleachers at the track includes the furnishing and installation of bleachers, press box, and associated concrete. 

The final public hearing to be held is regarding the demolition of the old Knoxville Middle School building. The site of the old middle school is a part of a collaborative effort between the city and school district as a potential site for a new public safety/city hall facility. At any public hearing, an individual may file objections to proposed plans. Knoxville Community School District Business Manager Craig Mobley says that no action will be taken on the public hearing for the new public safety/city hall facility until at least December. 

“The timing on this project is a little bit different. We will do a public hearing to give the citizens of the district a chance to voice their questions, concerns, and comments on this project. We actually won’t get bids on this until December, so at our December meeting the board can make a decision on those.”

The public hearings will take place on Monday, November 27th.
