The Pella Christian girls basketball team opens up the 2023-2024 season on the road in Bloomfield today at Davis County.
Today’s matchup marks the first time that the Eagles and Mustangs have met since 2009. That matchup went the way of Pella Christian in a 56-47 decision. The Eagles are looking to turn their fortunes around this season, after winning just nine games over the last two years. Pella Christian head coach Brendan Foughty says for that to happen, he wants to see his squad play with a new mentality.
“What I want to see against Davis County is that we show up with a mindset that we’re going to win the game, and we’re going to be more of the more physical team, we’re going to win the 50/50 balls, we’re going to rebound with great attitude and effort, and we’re going to have extremely great bench energy that continues to carry us throughout the game. ”
Tip-off for today’s season opener for the Pella Christian girls at Davis County is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
