An oath of office was administered to Firefighter Noel Lloyd at the Knoxville City Council meeting Monday night.
There was also an oath of office given to crisis K9 Max. At the meeting, the board approved an agreement between the City of Knoxville and the Marion County Fair Board regarding building permits and inspection requirements. After a lengthy discussion with Knoxville Raceway General Manager Jason Reed, the agreement passed with a split 3-2 vote. The council also approved a resolution approving a 28E agreement between the city and CROSS region related to the Law Enforcement Crisis Intervention Program. The program will provide extra support, give alternative options, and aid law enforcement when dealing with individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
The council approved the purchase of a Ventrac to be used by the parks and recreation department for snow removal, salting/sanding, mowing, and more for just over $81,000. The meeting concluded with approval of a change order, and approval of the final costs for the VA District – Phase One Improvements Project, and the council entering a closed session.
