Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday, and Knoxville businesses encourage everyone in the community to shop local.
According to the U.S Small Business Administration, Small Business Saturday is a day that was founded by American Express in 2011 to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. This day has quickly become a vital part of small businesses’ success during the busy holiday season. According to the same source, in 2022, it was estimated that $17.9 billion dollars were spent at independent retailers and restaurants on Small Business Saturday. Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nathan Sage encourages community members to come out and shop locally in Knoxville for Small Business Saturday.
“When it comes to shopping local and Small Business Saturday, all the money that you spend here, the dollars you spend here, the cash you spend here all goes back to the community that you are apart of.”
