The Knoxville Police Department encourages local businesses to invest in security cameras to help with shoplifting prevention ahead of the busy holiday shopping season.
This is the busiest time of year for retail stores as Christmas approaches. With the busy shopping season, there also comes a significant risk of theft. The Knoxville Police Department says that having working and effective security cameras in a business can help combat theft, and can be purchased for a relatively reasonable price, and can store a large amount of video to be easily accessed from a mobile device.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, cameras should always cover all exits, entrances of dressing rooms and bathrooms, the point of sale, and strategically placed to cover areas where a thief could easily conceal items while hidden from employees. Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller encourages anyone with questions about cameras to contact his department.
“If you have questions about cameras or camera placement give us a call. We will send an officer up to talk to you about the best place to place your cameras. We will give you some ideas on brands and where to buy them.”
